Maybelline Clear Smooth Aqua Gel Foundation is actually small. It’s smaller than my already small hand. For thrift shoppers out there, you’d probably say it’s not worth it since it’s P349 for a bottle this small, but in my opinion, it’s worth every penny. I’m in the shade #22 Natural Beige. For reference, I’m NC30 in MAC.
I love that the packaging is a squeeze tube that sports a small nozzle. I prefer this over pumps, because it gives you more control as to how much product you want to dispense. It’s pretty sturdy, and I don’t have to apply too much pressure in order to get the product, unless you’re almost running out of the foundation. 🙂
It is a yellow-toned foundation, which is a perfect match for my skin. I barely find a foundation as yellow as this one. Because it’s warm-toned, this definitely brightens up my skin when I use this. I’ve tried a foundation that is pink-toned or cool-toned and I looked really dull. This foundation dries up quickly though, so you have blend it quickly. The product glides on so blending is not much of a hassle. It doesn’t have any weird smell, so it’s a plus for me because I don’t like products that have fragrance. It doesn’t have SPF to it, but I don’t mind since my daily moisturizer has SPF already.
It feels light on the skin so it’s good if you want to let your skin breathe but still have coverage. Surprisingly, it has a soothing sensation which makes me feel fresh and happier. 🙂 Though the coverage is light, it can still make your pores appear smaller and even out your skin tone. It also toned down the redness on my face. The best part? It’s suitable for oily skin because it’s water-based. I usually breakout when using a new foundation, but not with this one. I find this a bit dewy so I always set this foundation with my NYC Translucent Powder or my powder foundation when I want more coverage. It doesn’t make my concealer crease when I use this which happened with my Ever Bilena foundation.
Before and After pictures always convince people, so here it is. I’ve applied Maybelline Aqua Gel Foundation and topped it off with powder in the last shot. Click on the picture for a bigger view.
